The American Eagle Gold Coin is the official gold bullion specimen of the United States. These beautiful gold coins are produced annually in Brilliant Uncirculated, proof, and burnished versions for collectors and investors. Among the two collectible options, the proof is the more popular and highly-minted version. Provident Metals currently offers Proof American Eagle 1 oz Gold Coins to you for purchase online in perfect condition.
When you purchase a Proof American Eagle 1 oz Gold Coin through this product listing, Provident Metals offers coins with a perfect certification from the NGC. The included UCAM label indicates the coins have strong, frosted designs and deeply-mirrored, clear background fields.
This is a random year listing at Provident Metals. All coins are chosen at our discretion once your payment is processed. We only guarantee the presence of the perfect certification and UCAM designation. Date marks and additional labels, such as Early Release, are random. If you purchase multiple coins, you may receive coins with the same dates and additional labels.
The obverse side of the Proof American Eagle 1 oz Gold Coin includes a depiction of Lady Liberty from Augustus Saint-Gaudens. It features Liberty in front-facing relief with a torch in her right hand and an olive branch in her left. Rays of sunshine originate behind her figure on the horizon and a ring of 50 stars encircles the design field.
On the reverse face of Proof American Eagle 1 oz Gold Coins is a depiction of a family of American bald eagles. Designed in 1986 by Miley Busiek, this design features a male eagle in flight over the family nest as a female eagle guards over the hatchling within the nest.
Proof American Eagle Gold Coins debuted in this 1 oz gold weight in 1986. Date marks available in this series include 1986 to 2008 and 2010 to present. No 2009 coins were issued as the US Mint redirected all blanks to coining its Brilliant Uncirculated coins. Date marks on the coins were originally inscribed in Roman numerals through 1991, with 1992 coins marking the switch to Arabic numerals. All 1 oz coins have W mint marks from the West Point Mint.
