Obverse

The Hall of Prayer for Abundant Harvests is depicted on the obverse of Chinese Panda 1/10 oz Gold Coins every year. This building is a Taoist religious site and was constructed in the Temple of Heaven Complex in south-central Beijing between 1406 and 1420.

Reverse

Giant Pandas are found on the reverse of the Chinese Panda 1/10 oz Gold Coin with each release. With the exception of 2001 and 2002, the coins have a new image of the Giant Panda species each year.

History

Chinese Panda Gold Coins debuted in 1982 with 1 oz, 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz, and these 1/10 oz gold coins. A 1/20 oz gold coin was added in 1983. Each of these coins had the same face value from 1982/83 until 2000. In 2001, all of the coins had face values that were adjusted upward. For these 1/10 oz gold coins, the face value went from 10 Yuan to 50 Yuan. In 2016, the 1/10 oz coin and its Troy oz counterparts were adjusted and released with weights in Grams, with the 1/10 oz coin becoming the 3 Gram coin.
