Don’t miss your opportunity to own this tribute to the iconic 1913 buffalo nickel from the prestigious Golden State Mint (GSM)! This 5 oz Silver Round is a great way to accumulate a substantial amount of silver in an iconic design. Each round is beautifully struck in .999 fine silver and arrives in BU condition. Makes a great gift for yourself of the history buff in your life!
The obverse pays tribute to James Earle Fraser’s portrait of a Native American chieftain, modeled after the iconic Indian Head design of the 1913 Buffalo Nickel. It’s believed that this design unites the facial features of three Native American chiefs: Two Moons of the Cheyenne, Big Tree of the Kiowa, and Iron Tail of the Lakota Sioux. LIBERTY is also inscribed.
The reverse features a profile view of Black Diamond, the famous 1,550-pound American Bison that once lived at the Bronx Zoo in New York. The great buffalo, which gives the original coin its name, is depicted standing on a mound. GOLDEN STATE MINT and the round’s weight, purity, and metal content are also inscribed.
The Silver Buffalo Round is produced by the privately-operated Golden State Mint (GSM). Since 1974, the Golden State Mint has manufactured millions of rounds and bars for bullion dealers across the nation, with a silver purity that equals that of sovereign-minted rounds. GSM is a life member of the American Numismatic Association, along with several other well-respected numismatic organizations. GSM is a family company dedicated to stellar customer service, and remains one of the most highly-regarded popular private mints in the industry today.

" I just received my round today, great looking round!!!"

" The 5 oz Buffalo round is okay. Actually, it?s probably pretty good. I just think that the 5oz Incuse Indian round looks a little nicer. The Buffalo round has a large polished field of shininess, and every little scratch or nick shows up really well. It also seems a little dimensionless compared to it?s 1 oz Buffalo cousins from the same mint. Overall, it?s fine . . . I just like the Incuse better."

" Just got this round in and I'm quite pleased. Immediately, I noticed the nice weight to it, and the mirror like finish. I have found that the Golden State Mint has the best indian/buffalo design. The price is definitely right on this round."
