Highlights:
Every single 2024 British Britannia 1 Kilo Silver Coin gets its own snug acrylic capsule to keep it shiny and new. These coins are in amazing condition, and guess what? They’re back for only the second time in this series. Gold Britannias came out first in 1987, followed by Silver Britannias in 1997.
Obverse
On the front side of the 2024 British Britannia Silver Coins, you’ll meet King Charles III. He’s there in a side view, no crown on his head. An artist named Martin Jennings made this image in late 2022 to use on British coins after Queen Elizabeth II passed away.
Reverse
Now, when you look at the flip side of the 2024 Britannia 1 Kilo Silver Coins, you’ll find Britannia herself. She’s a symbol of Britain’s strength and amazing navy. Britannia is standing by the coast, holding a trident in one hand, a shield with the Union Jack in the other, and a special helmet on her head.
History
Way back during Roman times, when Britain was part of the Roman Empire, the first signs of Britannia on British coins popped up. Modern depictions of Britannia can be traced to the reign of Charles II in the late 1600s. Her look has changed over time to match the art of the era and what Britain stands for.
