Obverse
The obverse side of the 2023 Chinese Panda Gold Coin comes with a depiction of the Hall of Prayer for Abundant Harvests. The design shown here was created in 1982 and has been used on all issues of the gold coins in this series, as well as the silver coins. The inscriptions include the nation of issue and the 2023 date mark.
Reverse
On the reverse field of the 2023 Panda 15 Gram Gold Coin, you will find the new image of Giant Pandas for the 2023 release. This design shows one panda in the branches of a tree reaching down with one paw toward another panda that is standing on the ground leaning on the trunk of the tree. Inscriptions on this side of the coin include 15 G, AU, .999, and 500 Yuan.
History
Chinese Panda Gold Coins debuted in 1982 with 1 oz, 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz, and 1/10 oz gold coins. The 1/20 oz gold coin was added in 1983. In 2016, these coins changed from Troy oz weights to Gram-based weights of 30, 15, 8, 3, and 1 Gram, respectively.
