Developed in 1967 to promote the gold reserves and bullion of South Africa, the Krugerrand is the worlds oldest gold bullion coin series still in production today. Obverse
On the obverse side of 2022 South African Krugerrand Gold Coins is an image of Paul Kruger. The former President of the South African Republic, Kruger was an influential Boer figure during the late 19th century. He not only served as President of the Republic, but also previously served on the triumvirate that ruled the nation between the first Boer War and independence. The inscriptions on this face of the coin include SUID-AFRIKA and SOUTH AFRICA. The former inscription is in Afrikaans.
Reverse
The reverse field of the 2022 South African Krugerrand 1 oz Gold Coin comes with a vision of the Springbok antelope. The Springbok is the official emblem of the Republic of South Africa and is shown here as it bounds across the savannas of the southern regions of the African continent. Inscriptions on this face of the KRUGERRAND, 2022, FYNGOULD, and 1 OZ FINE GOLD.
History
South African Krugerrands were first introduced in 1967 with only these 1 oz gold coins. In 1980, the popularity of the series resulted in the introduction of 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz, and 1/10 oz gold coins. In 2017, the 50th anniversary of the series brought about the release of a 1 oz silver and 1 oz platinum coin. The 1 oz silver coin remains an annual release from the mint.

In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies. For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
