2022 is the Year of the Tiger on the Chinese Lunar Calendar and Perth Mint has a range of new options to celebrate the strength and bravery of the tiger. The 2022 release in the Lunar Series III program has a distinct silver design and a separate design shared by the gold and platinum programs. Provident Metals currently has 2022 Australian Lunar Tiger 1/2 oz Silver Coins available to you online.
When you purchase a 2022 Australian Lunar Tiger 1/2 oz Silver Coin in this Provident Metals listing, you will receive coins that are in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. Individual coins ship to you in protective capsules. Multiples of 20 will arrive in rolls, while boxes of 100 coins are available from the mint. The box holds a total of five rolls of 20 coins each. The Perth Mint offers an unlimited mintage for this weight into 2022, meaning it will continue to strike the coins as demand necessitates until the release of the next design in the collection.
The obverse of 2022 Australian Lunar Tiger Silver Coins features an effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. Her Majesty is captured in this 2015 design from Jody Clark at the age of 89 wearing the George IV State Diadem Crown on her head. The image is the first on Australian coins since 1966 to include the Queens shoulders in the portrait. The inscriptions on this face of the coin read ELIZABETH II, AUSTRALIA, 1/2 OZ 9999 AG, and 50 CENTS.
On the reverse field of 2022 Australian Lunar Tiger 1/2 oz Silver Coins is a depiction of a family of tigers. In the foreground, an adult tiger is alertly and cautiously leading its young, playful cub along rocky terrain in the jungle. The background features foliage within the jungle that includes bamboo. The inscriptions on this face include a P mint mark, the Chinese symbol for the tiger, and TIGER 2022.
The coins in the silver series are available in six options. The 10 Kilo coin is the largest and will be struck to order with a maximum mintage of 100 coins. The 1 oz silver coin has a mintage of 300,000. All other weights have an unlimited mintage.
