Obverse

Queen Elizabeth II is depicted on the obverse of 2021 Tokelau Chronos Silver Coins. In this design, the Queen is shown in right-profile relief wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara. This particular effigy of the Queen was the fourth-generation design from the Royal Mint of England and was developed in 1998 by Ian Rank-Broadley. Inscriptions include 5 DOLLARS, ELIZABETH II, TOKELAU, and 2021.

Reverse

There is an all-new clock design on the reverse side of the 2021 Tokelau Chronos 1 oz Silver Coin. The design element shown here boasts ornate hour and minute hands for the clock with Roman numerals around the edge of the design field. With the field, you will find two mermaids with anchors. There is also a new latent image feature that changes as you change the viewing angle of the coin. Inscriptions here read CHRONOS, 1 OZ FINE SILVER 9999, and AG.

History

The Tokelau Chronos Series was introduced by the Pressburg Mint in 2015. From 2015 to 2018, the mint issued the Chronos Series as silver rounds. In 2019, the collection transitioned to legal tender silver coins and continued to use new clock-themed designs on the reverse with each date mark. The 2021 coins now have an infinity design element in the background field on both the obverse and reverse of the coins.
