Reverse

The modern version of the national seal is in the center of the design element with an oak-and-laurel wreath around it and ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS inscribed above it. Around the edge of the design field are 10 historic versions of the symbol.

History

All Mexican Libertad Gold Coins have designs based on the 1921 Gold Centenario. These 50 Peso gold pieces were issued with an effigy of Winged Victory and the Mexican coat of arms to mark the 100^th anniversary of Mexican independence. Modern Mexican Libertad Gold Coins have a modified version of the Winged Victory design.
