Located along the famed Gold Coast, Ghana was once a British colony under the British Gold Coast territory. In 1957, it gained its independence, but remains a part of the British Commonwealth. As such, the coins of Ghana typically feature an effigy of Her Majesty.
Obverse
The obverse of the 2021 Antique Republic of Ghana Alien 1 oz Silver Coin comes with an effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. Her Majesty is found in right-profile relief on this side in a design that was created in 1998 by Ian Rank-Broadley. This effigy featured on British coins as the fourth-generation design during Queen Elizabeth IIs reign. The Queen is surrounded in this design by a series of five different crop circles. The inscriptions on this face read REPUBLIC OF GHANA, 2021, 1 TROY OUNCE, 5 DOLLARS, and 999 FINE SILVER.
Reverse
On the reverse side of 2021 Antique Republic of Ghana Alien Silver Coins, you will find the image of an alien watching a human spacecraft lift off for space. The design shows the alien being in the foreground as it looks back at you over its shoulder. The alien has an oversized head, frail frame, and large, empty eyes. The rocket in the background is no doubt carrying humans into space on yet another mission to search for extraterrestrial life on another planet within the universe. There is a hidden message on this side that reads WE ARE HERE.
