Eudyptes warhami, better known as the Chatham penguin, was a species of crested penguins endemic to the Chatham Islands. Now extinct, this species of crested penguin is believed to have become extinct after the Moriori people, Polynesians by ethnicity, arrived in the archipelago around 450 years ago. Most scientists believe the crested penguins were hunted to extinction within 100 to 250 years of the Moriori arriving, though some suggest sightings of the birds still occurred in the 19^th century when the Maori from New Zealand began to arrive and conquer the islands, and by later Europeans who first saw the islands.

Queen Elizabeth II is depicted in right-profile relief on the obverse of 2020 New Zealand Chatham Island Crested Penguin 1 oz Silver Coins. This bust of the Queen was created for the Royal Mint of England in 1998 by Ian Rank-Broadley and depicts the Queen with the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara on her head.
