The obverse face of each coin bears the image of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in right-profile relief. It was created in 1984 by Raphael Maklouf for the Royal Mint. In this image, she is wearing the royal diadem, which is usually only worn on the way to and from the State Opening of Parliament.
