One of the most significant naval victories in American history didnt occur in coastal waters or in some far-flung ocean locale, but right here in the United States in the waters of the Great Lakes. During the War of 1812, Oliver Hazard Perry led a small US Naval force to victory against the British in what was the most significant victory of the war and one of the most memorable in US history. Provident Metals currently offers the 2013 ATB Perrys Victory 5 oz Silver Coin in near perfect condition to purchase online.

This bust of President Washington is the same that has featured on the obverse of the circulation quarter since 1932 and is used on the obverse of all ATB Silver coins from the US Mint. John Flanagan created this portrait of Washington for the US Mint.
Reverse
The reverse field of 2013 ATB Perrys Victory 5 oz Silver Coins includes a depiction of the statue of Commodore Oliver Hazard Perry. Commodore Perry led a US Naval force against the British Navy during the Battle of Lake Erie in the War of 1812. Perrys statue stands on the isthmus of South Bass Island in Ohio at the site of the Perrys Victory and International Peace Memorial.
History
The Battle of Lake Erie was fought on September 10, 1813, between nine US Navy vessels and six vessels of the British Royal Navy. The US Navy emerged successful and was able to capture the six British vessels, securing American control of the Great Lakes for the remainder of the War of 1812. The Perrys Victory and International Peace Memorial stands as a lasting symbol of the long-term peace that the United States, Britain, and Canada have enjoyed between the countries since the end of the War of 1812.
Ordering
The PCGS notes that these bullion coins are deeply-mirrored, proof-like specimens. This indicates the coin shave frosted elements with clear designs common to proof coins, even though these are bullion issues from the US Mint.
