The Australian Perth Mint holds an outstanding reputation among the bullion market, especially because of the exclusive designs and releases the mint has produced over the years. The Australian Silver Koala Coin Collection is one of the mints best releases, since the collection helps to highlight some of Australias most prominent wildlife. Every year of release, this coin series has featured new koala imagery, with 2012 marking the 5th release year for the collection. Now, the 2012 Australian Koala 1 oz Silver Coin PCGS SP69 Gilded can be purchased from this listing at Provident Metals.
The 2012 Australian Koala 1 oz Silver Coin PCGS SP69 Gilded is a legal tender of the country of Australia and was struck in 99.9% fine silver by the Perth Mint. This coin has a gilded quality, which means that there is a layer of 24-karat gold on certain elements of the coins design, making this release truly memorable and special. The SP69 grading from the PCGS means that this coin is considered near-perfect and has no more than two flaws. These flaws are minor, usually in the form of contact marks or minuscule hairline markings, and are always outside the coins main focal point.
In 2007, the Australian Silver Koala coin series was first released and featured new designs every year to honor the koala, which is one of the most popular Australian animals. The koala design on these special gilded coins is highlighted with 24-karat gold. Historically, the Perth Mint is known for releasing collections that feature images of some of Australias most prominent wildlife.
On the obverse of the 2012 Australian Koala 1 oz Silver Coin PCGS SP69 Gilded is the portrait image of Queen Elizabeth II. This portrait was originally designed by Ian Rank-Broadly and has been used on many coin releases from mints around the world. The obverse also shows the coins origin country, value, and Queen Elizabeth IIs name.
The reverse of the 2012 Australian Koala 1 oz Silver Coin PCGS SP69 Gilded features the new koala design for 2012. In the image, the koala is seen laying on a tree branch stomach-down, embracing the branch with its arms. The image itself has great detailing so the viewer is able to see how furry the koala is.
