2011 at the United States Mint marked the 25th anniversary of its popular American Eagle Gold and American Eagle Silver coins. The Proof American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coin included not one, but three options in 2011 that included the standard Proof-W coin, a Proof-S coin, and a Reverse Proof-P coin. Provident Metals currently offers the 2011-P Reverse Proof American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coin to you for purchase online in perfect condition.
When you purchase the 2011-P Reverse Proof American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coin through this product listing, you receive a coin with a PR70 certification. Coins in this condition have full, original mint luster and no detracting flaws of any kind on the design elements or background fields of the coin. These reverse proof coins have mirrored designs and frosted background fields.
On the obverse side of the 2011-P Reverse Proof American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coin is the iconic image of Walking Liberty. This beautiful depiction of Liberty was created in 1916 by Adolph A. Weinman to replace the Barber Coinage design on the US Half Dollar. It featured on that coin from 1916 to 1947 and was revived by the US Mint in 1986 for use on the new American Eagle 1 oz Silver bullion coins.
The reverse face of 2011-P Reverse Proof American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins bears the image of the heraldic eagle of the United States. The US Mints John Mercanti, who served as the 12th Chief Engraver from 2006 to 2010, designed this image of the heraldic eagle in 1986 for this series. The national emblem bears the US shield on the chest of the eagle, arrows in one talon, and an olive branch in the other. It was first designed in 1794 and has been modified several times since then for US denominations.
The 2011-P Reverse Proof American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coin was just the second reverse proof American Eagle Silver Coin in US history following the release of a 2006-P Reverse Proof to mark the 20th anniversary of the series. The additional 2011-S Proof American Eagle issued was the first S proof from the San Francisco Mint since 1992.
