Step into the fascinating world of the $20 Liberty Double Eagle and immerse yourself in its rich history. From 1850 to 1907, the Philadelphia Mint played a pivotal role in the production of these iconic coins, minting them each year with exceptional craftsmanship. Throughout this era, the Philadelphia Mint held the distinguished honor of being the sole branch responsible for issuing the $20 Liberty Gold Double Eagles. At Provident Metals, we are thrilled to offer you the chance to own the 1900 Pre-33 $20 Liberty Double Eagle Gold Coins in certified condition.
Highlights:
The 1900 Pre-33 $20 Liberty Double Eagle Gold Coins, presented in Mint State 63 condition, exude their unique charm. At this grading level, these coins display a slightly diminished mint luster, adorned with some minor contact marks and a few more noticeable marks scattered across the field. Additionally, small hairlines are observable without the aid of magnification, adding to the intricate details of these exceptional pieces.
Obverse
The 1900 Pre-33 Liberty Double Eagle Gold Coins boast distinctive design elements on the obverse side. These include a left-profile bust of Liberty, adorned with flowing hair elegantly tied in a bun at the back, complemented by a dignified coronet crown atop her head. Encircling the field, a ring of 13 stars adds a touch of symbolism, while a date mark finds its place at the bottom.
Reverse
On the reverse side of the 1900 $20 Liberty Double Eagle Gold Coin, you’ll admire the captivating visuals of the Great Seal of the United States. A splendid rendition of the heraldic eagle stands front-facing with wings majestically spread. The eagle upholds the US national shield and firmly grasps the arrows of war and the olive branch of peace in its mighty talons.
History
As the years unfolded in the Liberty Gold Double Eagle Series, the Philadelphia Mint remained actively involved in producing these coins. Philadelphia’s production of the coins would ebb and flow with time, but many of latter dates from the Philadelphia Mint had much lower mintage figures than its earlier dates in this series.
