Obverse
Porthos is depicted in the obverse design of 1 oz Silver Porthos Rounds. The image shows Porthos in a tavern when violence breaks out. She has drawn her sword, but doesnt spill a drop of wine as she gets up to protect the other patrons of the tavern. The inscriptions include PORTHOS and THE DANDY.
Reverse
All three musketeers are featured in the reverse design field of Silver Porthos Rounds. The Three Musketeers are shown here in front-facing relief as silhouettes walking toward the viewer. There is a crest above the musketeers with a banner and muskets crossed below. The motto ALL FOR ONE is found on the banner. History
Alexandre Dumas wrote The Three Musketeers in 1844, a historical adventure novel following members of the Black Musketeers in the Maison du Roi. The Black Musketeers were the Kings personal guard. Porthos was one of its most elite members, alongside his compatriots Athos and Aramis. Porthos is said to be the adventurous one of the three. He enjoys wine, music, and women while spending nights in the taverns of France.
