Individual coins are packaged in protective flips, while bulk orders of 25 are housed in original mint tubes. BU coins have no circulation wear, though small imperfections such as light spotting, minor contact marks, or changes in luster can occur during production and storage.
Obverse
For the obverse of these Canadian Maple Leaf Silver Coins, you’ll find one of four possible monarch effigies. Queen Elizabeth II featured on the coins from 1988 to 2023, with three different portraits used during this time. These included right-profile busts created by Arnold Machin (1988-1989), Dora de Pedery Hunt (1990-2003), and Susanna Blunt (2004-2023). King Charles III debuted on the coins in 2024 and his left-profile effigy was created by Steven Rosati.
Reverse
On the reverse of each Maple Leaf 1 oz Silver Coin is the iconic sugar maple leaf, along with engravings of the nation of issue, the coins purity, metal content, and weight. The obverse features one of the aforementioned images of Her Majesty.
History
The Royal Canadian Mint introduced the Silver Maple Leaf series in 1988, nearly ten years after the first Gold Maple Leaf coins. The silver and gold issues share the same basic designs, with the reverse staying the same and the obverse updating over time. The most noticeable changes have come with new portraits of the monarch as the years progressed.

“I put PM to the test when I attempted to do an Exchange for 30 silver rounds I just purchased and they passed with flying colors! These SML’s went on SALE about 10 hours after I just bought the rounds and they allowed me the Exchange without the 10% restocking fee.
