Obverse

Walking Liberty is showcased on the obverse of Proof American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins. This vision of Liberty was developed in 1916 by Adolph A. Weinman and used on the US half dollar until 1947. It shows Liberty walking toward the sun cresting a mountain peak as she reaches out with her right hand.

Reverse

The heraldic eagle of the United States is featured on the reverse of all Proof American Eagle Silver Coins in this listing. The heraldic eagle has been modified at various points in American history since its 1795 debut on the first gold coins issued by the US Mint. This particular design comes from John Mercanti and was modernized in 1986 for the American Eagle Silver Coins.

History

Some of the most popular in the history of the series include the 1987 release and the 2006 20th-anniversary release, the two highest date marks in the history of the series. The rarest is the 1995-W Proof American Eagle.
