The $10 Gold Eagle was the primary denomination in the US Mints Eagle series of gold coins. Produced in a total of four denominations from 1795 to 1933, the Eagle was one of five base units of US currency in the early years of the nation alongside the mill, cent, dime, and dollar. US Eagle gold coins were available with the $10 Gold Eagle as the base denomination. All other denominations in the series were known as a Gold Eagle as well, with the denomination in front of the Eagle term or a different term to identify the exact denomination. For example, the smaller denominations of Half Eagle and Quarter Eagle had face values equal to half the eagle and a quarter of the eagle at $5 (USD) and $2.50 (USD), respectively. The largest denomination was the Double Eagle Gold coin introduced in 1849 with a face value of $20 (USD).

On the obverse side of the Pre-33 $10 Indian Gold Eagle coins is the final design used in the series. Created in 1907 by Augustus Saint-Gaudens, it depicts Liberty in left-profile relief with an indigenous headdress on her head. Inscriptions and designs on this face include 13 stars above her head and a date mark below the bust.

The reverse face of the Pre-33 $10 Indian Gold Eagle includes a depiction of the American bald eagle in left-profile relief. The bird sits perched on a sheaf of arrows with its wings resting at its sides. The sheaf is wrapped in an olive branch. Inscriptions on the 1907 coins include United States of America, E Pluribus Unum, and Ten Dollars. Coins issued from 1908 onward also have In God We Trust inscribed on this face of the coins.

The $10 Indian Gold Eagle design was the final image of three to feature on the Eagle. The longest-running design was the Liberty Head Coronet created in 1838 by Christian Gobrecht. It was used until 1907 when it was replaced by the Indian Eagle image. Prior to the Liberty Head Coronet, the Turban Head was available between 1795 and 1804 with two variations.

These Pre-33 $10 Indian Gold Eagle coins have Mint State 61 certifications. Coins in this grade have diminished mint luster, noticeable hairlines throughout, and contact marks in both the primary and secondary focal areas.
