Picked up a 1990 ASE. I absolutely fell in love with the minor tarnished look! I will be picking more up!

I’ve been buying from Provident every month since 2016. Actually 3 years to the month. When this item is available I jump on it. I’ve found that Provident and I have a difference in opinion when it comes to “off-quality”. These always seem to arrive in great shape! I personally have never received anything less than Bu/Nice in the last three years. They say Off-Quality” I say NOT!

Excitedly awaiting for my first order of cull ASE and I bought 20 from another dealer while waiting for provident to get more in.. And like in above comments they do go very fast! I can’t wait to see them and hopefully these will have more of different dates. I will say provident for me and all my purchases their proscess after they’ve received payment goes thru faster than most dealers.. By far the best packaging and the fastest shipping. I’ve been very happy with each and every single order… I am so happy with provident and their customer service. And when I found out about provident I stopped ordering from J.M. for a few reasons… Furthermore, I always go to provident for the majority of siver and very competitive prices..

i am very satisfied, coins were all in good condition with a nice variety of years…best of all a ‘1996’ ASE was part of the cull order..can’t ask for any better than that!

Ordered 20 and received 20 in a tube. Heavy Tarnish on most and one was laquered, but received a good variety. They smelled terrible, but I cleaned them up (can’t hurt for a cull coin) and they came out decent. Most had scratches and heavy pitting after cleaning, but I love the coins.

CAn’t go wrong with silver eagle culls; ultra low premium plus 90% of the ones I receive, don’t seem like culls to me. Keep up the good work Provident!!!

Ordered 42 coins Received 20 ’98 coins, one ’87, mixture of 2011 and 2016 coins and 2 2017 pcgs ms70.

Awesome-1990 1997 1999 2001 2008 a few look perfect ..all in good condition .. 1990 And 2008 slight discolor.but still…SILVER ! Can’t wait for the next batch when avail ! thank you

Culls arent b/u coins. Culls are suppose to be messed. up Some worse than others. I’ve always been fortunate when purchasing culls thru PROVIDENT. PROVIDENT ROCKS!!!

I ordered 5, and received five 2013 coins. All had some dark (not tarnish) areas on the edge, obverse and/or reverse. Only one had any visible scratches, but all were clearly uncirculated (details are clear on each). The coins did not come is a plastic flip – they were in a small plastic bag which may account for the scratches. They look like coins that someone bought, threw in a bag and forgot about in a nightstand. Nothing special in this lot. Giving 3 stars but probably only 2 1/2 are deserved.

I work 3rd shift and i put a few of these in my basket last night. I was gonna order these when i woke up. I should of known better and ordered last night as they’re SOLD OUT. PROVIDENT always sells out which is a good thing!!! Everything = Price, Product, Professionalism – PROVIDENT!

I’m more of a silver stacker than coin collector so these coins look great to me. Shipping was extremely slow, 3 weeks for delivery.

Ordered some of these again, and finally received my first Eagle with paint (or vinyl decal). I received 2 2001 9/11 memorial coins. Other than the color, these were in perfect condition, and still in the capsule. The other three coins were the same as usual, had a few finger prints, and one with some toning, and one with a little grime, but all was good. Again, these are the best deal going for those of you, like me, stacking on a budget.

I sign up for notifications on these coins and buy some nearly every time they come available! I’ve never been disappointed! The value of these coins for the good quality and wide varieties of dates makes them the best deal on the market!

I’m not a BU coin stacker, but these are always much better than expected. I have never received a badly damaged or painted coin. There may be some in the lot, but I’ve never received one. These always appear to be coins that have been handled, and usually have light toning or scuffs. Occasionally I get one that looks like it has been cleaned. I try to buy a little on a regular basis, usually just enough to get free shipping, and most of the time I get a good mix of dates. The last 5 I purchased were all 2013s, so you just never know. The only thing I do know for sure is that I’m always satisfied with these. As always, thanks Provident!

Ordered six of these at $2.29 over spot. Received a 1986, 2001, 2004, 2007 and two 2014 Eagles. The 2001 had spotty toning on the face and back. The remainder had minor imperfections and loss of luster. Exactly as advertised and expected! No complaints from me . . . awesome deal and selection of coins. Thanks!

Bought on May 20, what I received was 4 x 2010 & 1 x 2008. Nice coins with the same silver content as a BU coin. I’m happy.

so i ordered 4 more of these when i was alerted that they were on sale and i received 4 bu 2015 which was kind of surprising, but im not complaining, great condition and paying a used price for brand new eagles is ok with me, thanks provident and keep em comin!

I ordered five of these off quality eagles, all were pretty good condition little scratch or scuff here and there but all beautiful and at a great price, ordered 4 more a few days ago, going to order every time they become available! I got years 1991, 2000, 2009, 2010, 2012

My first order of off-quality bullion from Provident turned out quite well. I’d been ready to receive scarred, defaced, or painted coins. What I got was all 2010 ASEs, no paint, no defacing, no tarnish. Yes, they are off-quality – some had polishing errors from the mint and the rest had one or two small clusters of pinpoint dents or scratches on the faces and a few small dings in the reeded edges. Even defaced, these would have been a lower-price way to get silver in a form that’s guaranteed by the U. S. Mint. I like having legal tender coins as part of my mix, and these are cheaper than Bright Uncirculated. So I’m pleased. I expect to order more when they’re available.

No complaints here. Ordered 20 and recieved 1995s, 1999s, and 2000s. All were polished and in very good condition. This is a great way to add Silver Eagles to your collection at a discounted price. There’s a possibility some will show signs of wear. I recieved them 7 days from my purchase date using a cashiers check.

The coins are not brilliant uncirculated… But they are not being sold as BU. I think they are a great value for my purpose. I will certainly buy again if they become available.

It is a 2012 silver american eagle. I paid just a few cents under the price of a 2014. Not in the worst shape and not in the best shape but for the conditioon it’s in i feel i should have got atleast 1 more dollar off. But at the end of the day it still has 1 troy oz of .999 fine silver. Who knows maybe there are peolple out there that collect mint made defects.and marks. I give the purchase 4 STARS. Like many other reviews, my silver eagle had an X scratched across the face. I knew this was probable from reading the other reviews but I bought it for the silver content. In the end, it’s an ounce of silver from the US mint so there are no questions about who made the coin and if it’s from a reputable place. If you are investing in silver this is a good way to go just don’t buy it for other reasons, you’ll be disappointed.

The coins were scratched and i was startled by the x on the faces, did some googling no luck then looked here, must have been someone with free time and bad taste. Was my first off quality silver eagle purchase, will stay away in the near future

I had the same issue as Phillip, in regards to my entire tube, as all 20 coins had an X carved into the face of the coin, and even the tube itself had a Black Perm Marker X on it also. I’ve bought 40 of these before and was extremely pleased with it, in fact it even exceeded my expectations, but this batch of 20 is awful by prior standards. Shame on whoever did this to these ASE’s and to Phillip’s, I may never order from the O-Q ASE section again. True, it still is an ounce of Silver per coin physically, but not so much when they are all X’d up.

Order a lot of “off ASE” been happy with most but the last shipment looked as if someone used a box knife on them putting an X on the face of the coin, now scratches are one-thing but marking them up deliberately !?! Probably will not order again.

Back in September, Provident had a lot of the Off-Quality American Silver Eagles available which was surprisingly but within a few days, the quantity dwindled. I ended up grabbing the last of the coins that were on hand. The date of the coins ranged from 1987 to 2010. Although some were scratched, the majority of the coins were badly tarnished & a few were discoloured. Tarn-X took care of that problem & the coins look fantastic, even with the scratches. Still, I’m happy with my purchase.

The American Silver Eagles are now one of three of my favourite bullion coins, along with the Canadian Silver Maple Leafs & the Austrian Silver Philharmonics. Regardless of the fact that these coins are off-quality, don’t let that scare you. Just buy them because once they sell out, they’re gone for a while. Be on the lookout when they become available.

At the time of ordering last week they would only allow the purchase of two at a time. Now that I’m writing this review they are sold out so I’m guessing this is a pretty popular product.

So for my two coins I received:

Coin #1: 1987 that looks almost as good as someone pulled it right out of a coin tube from the mint.

Coin #2: Also a 1987 that has a couple small scratches on the front and some tarnishing on the back.

As far as I’m concerned I received what I ordered.

For the shipping I ordered on a Friday evening and received on Tuesday which I would consider a very good turnaround.

I ordered 25 of these not being really sure what to expect. What I received was “fair”. These are “off quality” coins. Some are in very good condition, some are pretty rough. But each is an ounce of silver in a widely recognizable vehicle.

If appearance is important to you do not order these. If you’re looking for an affordable way to obtain ASE then this is a good option.

Some of my coins were heavily tarnished or stained or painted. Some had surfaces that are scratched up. Others were very nice. These are well above the quality of “junk” silver coins but they are not first quality mint fresh coins.

I ordered 12 of these and expected to get used or worn coins. I ended up getting a variety of dates and all were new with the exception of one and that one was pretty nice too.

Grabbed a bunch of these. Happy with each and every one. Will grab more in the future!

I just received my off quality ASE’s! I received a 2001, 2009, and 2010.. They all appear to be BU in my opinion! Thanks PM! Great service!

I’m not a coin expert by any means. I ordered 3 of these with my last order, one was a 1986 which is in pretty good condition, however it has a mirror sheen and almost looks like it’s been polished. I received a 1999 colorized one which was in almost uncirculated condition. And the 2000 colorized one I received was in poor condition. There is discoloration around the edges, scratches and scuffs all over it, and the paint, or whatever it is they color it with, is chipping off slightly. However I am happy with this purchase, silver is silver and if you receive lower quality ones than you expect than they’ll make good bartering pieces. Great deal for what you pay for!

Finally got some of these and was very happy with all of them. All but 2 are VG and a few look to be Uncirculated. One had a rough edge and the other was colorized on one side. Beyond that, these are good coins.

Picked some up for my second order from Provident. Can’t complain here, pretty good quality eagles at a discounted price.

The picture led me to believe these coins wouldn’t be as nice as the ones I received. Of the 20 I ordered, 16 were virtually un-circulated, 3 had minor tarnish on the face side, and 1 had some sort of sticky plastic stuck to the face side. After an over night soak in some Acetone(educate yourself before attempting), the sticky plastic coin wiped perfectly clean. FYI – The dates ranged from 1990 to 2011. ‘Off Quality’ at Provident is how I will buy Silver Eagles from now on.

Very nice coins for “off-quality” designation. Got a nice mix of years from 1991-2004, and had to look closely for any issues with them. I am not a coin collector but a bullion collector, so these exceeded my expectations.
