When you buy the Canadian Maple Leaf 1 oz Silver Coin listed here, you receive a coin with a near-perfect certification. Coins in Mint State 69 condition showcase full, original mint luster and have a maximum of two minor detracting flaws. Those flaws are limited in nature to minuscule contact marks and hairlines located outside of the primary focal points of the coin.

Please note this listing has the potential for additional, varied labels to be present with the coins. These include Early Release of First Strike, denoting the arrival of the coins within the first 30 days of release from the Royal Canadian Mint. These labels are not guaranteed to be in the slab with your coin.

Obverse

Queen Elizabeth II is featured on the obverse of the Canadian Maple Leaf 1 oz Silver coins in one of three effigies. Coins issued in 1988 and 1989 have the second-generation bust of the Queen created by Arnold Machin in which Her Majesty wears a crown wreath. The coins produced from 1990 to 2003 have Dora de Pedery-Hunts third-generation portrait of the Queen. The first from a Canadian artist, it depicts the Queen wearing the George IV State Diadem Crown. All coins issued from 2004 onward have Susanna Blunts portrait of the Queen, the first during her reign to lack a crown in the design.

Reverse

The sugar maple leaf is shown on the reverse side of Canadian Maple Leaf 1 oz Silver coins. This design was created in 1979 by Walter Ott for use on the Canadian Maple Leaf Gold coin and showcases the national emblem in an astonishingly beautiful design.

History

Canadian Maple Leaf Silver Coins are available only in 1 oz silver and are produced annually. The highest mintage recorded in the series came amidst a period of record demand for silver in the early 2010s. The 2014 coin sold 29.245 million coins as the highest recorded mintage in the series.

Ordering

Please remember that it is possible to get random date marks with your purchase and that we cannot guarantee a specific date mark with your purchase. The date, design on the obverse, and the possible labels included with your coin can all match if you purchase multiples.
