Canadian Maple Leaf Silver Coins were introduced in 1988 as the worlds first-ever .9999 pure silver bullion coins. The coin was the third major silver bullion coin to debut behind the Mexican Libertad Silver Coin and the American Eagle Silver Coin, and it remains the second most popular coin behind only the American Eagle Silver Coins. Right now, Canadian Maple Leaf 1 oz Silver Coins are available to purchase online in cull condition at Provident Metals.

These coins are offered in cull condition, providing a much lower premium over the spot price of silver. However, cull coins are prized only for the silver content. A cull coin can display a range of detracting flaws from heavy wear and tear to severe physical damage such as deep scratches, scuffs, holes, and dents. There is no guarantee on the exact condition of the cull Canadian Maple Leaf 1 oz Silver Coin you will receive through this listing.

On the obverse of the Canadian Maple Leaf 1 oz Silver Coin is a depiction of Queen Elizabeth II. Introduced in 1988, it is possible for one of three portraits of the Queen to feature on the coins. The most likely portraits youll find on these coins are the third-generation design created in 1990 by Dora de Pedery-Hunt and used through 2002. The fourth-generation design created by Susanna Blunt has been in use on the coins since 2003.

The reverse face of Canadian Maple Leaf Silver Coins includes a design of the sugar maple leaf. Created in 1979 by Walter Ott, this image has featured on the silver coin throughout its production history. It has also featured on the Canadian Gold Maple Leaf since its 1979 debut, and is also in use on the Canadian Maple Leaf Platinum and Palladium coins.

Canadian Maple Leaf 1 oz Silver Coins were introduced in 1988 by the Royal Canadian Mint at the same time that the Canadian Maple Leaf Platinum Coin was introduced. The Canadian Maple Leaf Palladium Coin was the last to be released and has had an on-again, off-again production schedule since its introduction.
