The 12 animals of the Chinese Zodiac feature on the reverse of the Australian Lunar 1 Kilo Silver Coins. Each of the Lunar Series I, II, and III coins offer their own, distinctive images of these animals.

Lunar Series I was the first collection from the Perth Mint. Debuting in 1996, it originally offered only 1 oz options for investors. 1 Kilo coins were added in 1999 and have continued as a staple in the silver coin series through the whole of Lunar Series II and the debut of Lunar Series III in 2020.
