History

The US dimes, quarters, and half dollars produced from 1892 to 1916 are known as the Barber Coinage. The 6th US Mint Chief Engraver, Charles E. Barber, created each of the designs in 1892. His Liberty bust was used across all three denominations, while the heraldic eagle was used only on the quarter and half dollar. The dime featured the denomination in text with a wreath around it.
