Obverse

In the obverse design element, you will find simple markings stamped into the surface of the bar. Most of these bars come with the SilverTowne logo at the center of the bar. The lower-left corner includes a stamping of the weight of 50 oz and the lower-right corner features the stamped marking of .999 Fine. All of the markings are arranged across the horizontal, wide face of the bar rather than vertically up and down the bar. Please note that SilverTowne is producing this same bar with alternate designs now as well. While each bar is still a 50 oz poured silver bar, you may receive a design that is slightly different than this obverse design element.

Reverse

SilverTowne leaves the reverse field of all 50 oz Silver Poured Bars blank. The poured production process results in one side of the bar not being available to refiners for stamping during the cooling process. This means that side is left blank.

History

Poured silver bars represent the oldest form of precious metals refining known to man. Silver is melted and then poured into a prefabricated mold that ensures a proper size and shape to create a product with a specific weight of silver. Poured silver bars are allowed to cool in this mold and the markings are then stamped into the surface of the bars.
