Obverse
The obverse of the 2024 Niue COMIX Sensation Comics #1 Silver Coin showcases the Public Seal of Niue. Adopted in September 2021, the seal features a traditional Niuean garland of 14 seashells. Inside the garland, an inner circle of hiapo designs symbolizes the land, and at the center, a stylized tree represents the Niuean people. Inscriptions on this side include TWO DOLLARS, PUBLIC SEAL OF NIUE, 2023, and 1 OZ. 999 FINE SILVER.
Reverse
On the reverse, the 2024 COMIX Sensation Comics #1 1 oz Silver Coin presents the iconic cover art of Sensation Comics #1, created by Harry G. Peter. The design shows Wonder Woman deflecting bullets with her bracelets as she charges forward, a timeless image that has captivated comic fans for decades.
History
Sensation Comics #1, released in January 1942 by All-American Publications, which later became DC Comics, was the first full comic book to feature Wonder Woman. This issue introduces several key supporting characters in Wonder Woman’s mythos, including Steve Trevor (her love interest) and Etta Candy (her best friend).
