History
The Ghostbusters’ vehicle, the Ecto-1, is based on a 1959 Cadillac professional chassis. This model was used for both ambulances and hearses, which fits perfectly with the Ghostbusters’ line of work. The car was found in poor condition and restored for the film. Its distinctive siren and extensive modifications made it one of the most memorable movie cars of the 1980s.
