Each 2024 Congo Prehistoric Life Suchomimus 1 oz Silver Coin is available in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, packaged in a protective plastic flip. The series includes silver coins in BU and colorized finishes, along with a 1/2 gram gold coin, each with a limited mintage.
Obverse
The obverse of the 2024 Congo Prehistoric Life Suchomimus Silver Coin features the coat of arms of Congo. This design includes a leopards head in front-facing relief, set above a rock slab, with a spear on one side and an elephant tusk on the other. Inscriptions include REPUBLIQUE DEMOCRATIQUE DU CONGO, 20 FRANCS, and 1 OZ AG 999.9.
Reverse
On the reverse, the 2024 Prehistoric Life Suchomimus 1 oz Silver Coin showcases the Suchomimus dinosaur. The creature is shown with its head raised near a body of water, with a river winding through a dense jungle in the background and sandbars extending into the water. Inscriptions here include PREHISTORIC LIFE, SUCHOMIMUS, 126.3-113 MIO YEARS BC, 2024, and other engravings of prehistoric eras.
History
Suchomimus, whose name means “crocodile mimic,” was a large, carnivorous dinosaur that lived approximately 125 to 112 million years ago during the Early Cretaceous period. This dinosaur inhabited the lush, tropical environments of what is now Niger in Africa. Its elongated snout and sharp teeth closely resembled those of modern crocodiles, giving rise to its name.

In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies. All orders of $199 or more that are eligible for free shipping are, by default, shipped via a carrier of our choice (USPS or UPS). Depending on the contents and size of your purchase, you may be able to upgrade to a specific carrier during checkout.
For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
