Obverse
For the obverse design of the 2023 Somalia Elephant Silver Coin, the mint features the Somali coat of arms. This design includes a shield with a crowned top, horizontal lines in the background, and a single star in the center. Leopards flank the shield from either side and the coin includes inscriptions that read SOMALI REPUBLIC, 2023, and 100 SHILLINGS.
Reverse
In the reverse design element of 2023 Elephant 1 oz Silver Coins, the Bavarian State Mint showcases the bush elephant. Here, the elephant uses its long truck to pull down a branch so it can eat leaves from a tree. History
Somalia Elephant 1 oz Silver Coins previously had mintage caps on an annual basis. As of 2016, these mintage caps have disappeared as the Bavarian State Mint strikes the coins to meet demand each year.
