Celebrated by a quarter of the world’s population or more than two billion people, the Chinese lunar New Year is one of the world’s most popular holidays. Many countries mark it as an official holiday, one of those being Singapore. The Singapore Mint has embarked on a series of bullion collectibles designed to pay tribute to this holiday and each of the zodiac signs associated with it, beginning with the Year of the Rabbit. The 2023 Proof Singapore Year of the Rabbit 1 oz Silver Coin is now available from Provident Metals.

The 2023 Proof Singapore Year of the Rabbit Silver Coin features a shaped design and a brilliant proof-quality finish that provides beautiful backdrops for its engraved artwork. It ships in a custom-designed red box made to evoke the Chinese tradition of exchanging red envelopes for the New Year, and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity that identifies its unique number in the mintage.
Obverse
The obverse side of the coin features the Singaporean coat of arms. This is surrounded by inscriptions of the country’s name in four languages, along with an inscription of the year “2023.”
Reverse
The reverse side of the coin features a Rabbit in a park setting reminiscent of the many beautiful public parks that Singapore is famed for. It’s accompanied by the inscriptions “1 TROY OZ 999 FINE SILVER” and “$5.”
History
People born in the Year of the Rabbit are said to be open and socially oriented, bringing positive dynamics to their interactions with others and showing devotion to justice and fair play. Some of the most famous celebrity Rabbits include the Qianlong Emperor of the Qing Dynasty, the great scientist Albert Einstein, actor and martial artist Jet Li, and fashion designer Ralph Lauren, just to name a few. In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies. All orders of $199 or more that are eligible for free shipping are, by default, shipped via a carrier of our choice (USPS or UPS). Depending on the contents and size of your purchase, you may be able to upgrade to a specific carrier during checkout.
For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
