History

Burton Morris was born in 1964 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In 1986, Morris received an art degree from Carnegie Mellon before pursuing a career in advertising. Morris gained quite a boost in exposure when in the mid-1990s the beloved sitcom Friends began featuring the artists work in episodes. This, along with an invitation to create the Oscars logo in 2005, helped cement Morris as an icon of modern contemporary art.
