History

In 2009, Titanoboa fossils were discovered in a coal mine in Columbia. Through these fossils, scientists have been able to estimate the size and age of this snake while also approximating its appearance. Roaming the earth during the Middle to Late Paleocene epoch, the Titanoboa was a carnivore, feasting on crocodiles and even other snakes that got in its way.
