Reverse
The reverse side of 2023 Antique Australian Lunar Rabbit 2 oz Coins contains a pair of rabbits in nature. One of these rabbits is investigating some berries on a branch and the other sits in a calm position while gazing off into the distance. In this idyllic scene, youll notice some additional rabbits in the background, as well as butterflies, clouds, and flowers.
History
The Perth Mint began producing Lunar coins back in 1999. That happened to be the Year of the Rabbit as well, which means 2023 marks the third rabbit design overall from Perth. Series II began in 2008 and concluded in 2019. Then in 2020, the current Lunar III Series launched with the Year of the Rat. Series III will conclude in 2031 with the Year of the Pig.
