In the American Eagle Gold Series, the United States Mint offers three fractional-ounce coins to investors and collectors. The largest of these coins is the 1/2 oz gold coin, which was first issued in 1986 in the BU Series and 1987 in the Proof Series. Provident Metals now has 2023 American Eagle 1/2 oz Gold Coins available to you for purchase online.
When you purchase one of these 2023 American Eagle 1/2 oz Gold Coin onlines at Provident Metals, you will receive a coin that is packaged individually or in multiples of 40 gold coins. The American Eagle 1/2 oz Gold Coin shipes in either an individual plastic flip or a protective tube of 40 coins. All coins are in Brilliant Uncirculated condition.
The obverse of the 2023 American Eagle Gold Coin comes with the iconic vision of Lady Liberty created by Augustus Saint-Gaudens. Designed in 1907, this visual shows Liberty in front-facing relief with a torch held up in her right hand and an olive branch in her left hand. The background field includes sun rays that silhouette her figure and the U.S. Capitol Building near her feet. There is also a ring of stars around the field. Inscriptions on this side include LIBERTY and 2023.
On the reverse of 2023 American Eagle 1/2 oz Gold Coins, you will find a depiction of the American bald eagle. This new design was created in 2020 by Jennie Norris and it debuted on these coins in mid-2021. The image captures the head of the eagle in left-profile relief and offers intricate details in its depiction of the eagles features. Inscriptions on this side read UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, IN GOD WE TRUST, E PLURIBUS UNUM, and 1/2 OZ. FINE GOLD 25 DOLLARS.
The new design on the reverse side of American Eagle Gold Coins is the first creation from Jennie Norris to feature on American coins. She is currently a member of the United States Mint Artistic Infusion Program.
