Obverse

History
American Eagle Gold Coins are, as of 2011, available from the US Mint with four weights in BU, four weights in Proof, and just one weight in Burnished. While the Burnished Eagle debuted in 2006 with all four weights, the fractional-ounce options were suspended after the programs 2-year hiatus in 2009 and 2010.
