Weinman created in 1916. It was first used on the US dime from 1916 to 1945 and became known as the Mercury Dime due to Libertys resemblance to the Roman messenger god, Mercury. This design also comes from Weinman and was created in 1907 for the American Institute of Architects gold medal. The design shows the bald eagle in left-profile relief with its wings flexed back and its talons clutching a small sapling growing from a rock ledge. History

American Eagle Palladium Coins were authorized by Congress in 2010, but production did not start until 2017. So far, two date marks have featured a BU release, two date marks have featured a proof release, and one date mark has featured a burnished release. The 2022 coin marks the second reverse-proof release.
