Obverse
Queen Elizabeth II appears on the obverse of 2022 Proof Classic Superhero Aquaman 3 oz Silver Coins. Here the Queen is captured in right-profile relief while wearing the iconic Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara. This crown belonged to Queen Mary before she gifted it to Elizabeth on her wedding day in 1947. Inscriptions on the obverse field read ELIZABETH II, NIUE, 2022, TEN DOLLARS.
Reverse
Aquaman is featured on the reverse side of the 2022 Proof Niue Classic Superhero 3 oz Silver Coin. This fully-licensed design depicts the King of the Seven Seas in a mighty pose as he grips his trident with fierce determination. Other design elements include the official logo and a montage of Aquaman in action. Inscriptions are also included that read 3 OZ .999 FINE SILVER.
History
Though he originated as a backup character in the DC anthology series, Aquaman has enjoyed a steady growth in popularity ever since. Today, Aquaman remains more beloved than ever, thanks in large part to the 2018 blockbuster starring Jason Momoa in the titular role. Momoa will reprise his role in the sequel in 2023 and can also be found in the 2017 and 2021 versions of Justice League.
