Reverse

The reverse side of the 2022 Proof Mexican Libertad Silver Coin comes with a depiction of Winged Victory. This powerful image from the Mexican war of independence shows the goddess figure in left-profile relief with large, powerful wings on her back. Her right hand holds a laurel wreath and her left clutches broken chains. Inscriptions on this side read 1/2 ONZA, PLATA PURA, 2021 LEY .999, and the Mexican Mints mint mark.

History

Proof Mexican Libertad 1/2 oz Silver Coins marked a mintage high, to date, of 13,150 silver coins in 2016. The next year saw another high level of demand at 12,750 coins, but the vast majority of date marks in this weight have been well below 10,000 coins.
