The famous red Welsh dragon appeared on the battle flags of soldiers from the British Isles as early as the 5th century. It was later adopted by Welsh kings who were keen to show their authority following the Roman withdrawal. One of the first official uses of the flag was probably during the battle of Bosworth Field in England, in 1485, when Henry Tudor defeated Richard III. Coin Highlights:
The oldest recorded use of the dragon to symbolize Wales is in the Historia Brittonum, written around AD 829, but it is popularly supposed to have been the battle standard of King Arthur and other ancient Celtic leaders. During the reigns of the Tudor monarchs (themselves originally of Welsh origin), the red dragon was used as a supporter in the English Crown’s coat of arms. The red dragon is often seen as symbolizing all things Welsh, and is used by many public and private institutions. With a limited mintage of 15,000 coins, each coin arrives in a protective plastic capsule.
Obverse
For the obverse field of the 2022 Niue Welsh Dragon Silver Coin, the 1998 design of the Elizabeth II effigy is featured. The European Mint used a bust of the old queen designed by Ian Rank Broadley. She is depicted in a right-profile view with dazzling pears and a regal headpiece fit for her status as the leader of Great Britain. The headpiece in question is referred to as the Diamond Diadem.
Reverse
For the reverse field of the 2022 Welsh Dragon 1 oz Silver Coin, the Welsh dragon is engraved. This image showcases the outline of the national emblem of the country of Wales in a right-facing portrait. The inscriptions found on this side of the coin include Welsh dragon, and the weight and purity of the coin.

For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
