Design

The obverse of the 2022 Rectangular Silver Note 1 Kilo Silver Coin depicts Queen Elizabeth II in profile looking to the right. Atop her head is the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara. This effigy of Her Majesty was designed in 1998 by Ian Rank-Broadley, who drew inspiration from Pistruccis 1817 portrait of George III. The engraving is designed to look as though a silver note was stamped into the metal. Along the sides of the coin, youll find the inscription ELIZABETH II, NIUE 2022, 1 KG FINE SILVER .9999, 50 DOLLARS, IN ARGENTUM VERITAS. On the reverse side of the coin is a blank field.
