History
Superman creators Joe Shuster and Jerry Siegel had been sitting on their new superhero for years trying to find a publication for it. Initially, Superman was a villain who used telepathic powers against humanity. Later, his creators decided he might be more appealing as a hero, so they refashioned Superman and submitted his first story to Action Comics. Initially, the publishers were skeptical of Superman and found the comic weak. However, when the sky-high sales of the first issue were attributed to the Man of Steel, he became a staple in the iconic publication.
