The historic Walking Liberty design from the 1916 US half dollar is arguably one of the most popular American coin designs of all-time. Highlights:
Adolph A. Weinman created the image known as Walking Liberty in 1916. It was submitted to the United States Mint as one of two designs from Weinman, and one of three in total, to be considered for replacements on the existing dime, quarter, and half dollar. This image was chosen for the half dollar and graced the coins through 1947.
Obverse

Reverse
The reverse side of the 2022 75th Anniversary of the Last Walking Liberty Silver Coin comes with both the vision of Walking Liberty and the American bald eagle. Liberty is set in left-profile relief with her right hand extended, her left clutching the branches of oak and laurel, and the American flag around her figure. The American bald eagle is also in left-profile relief with raised wings as it clutches a sapling. Inscriptions read 75 YEARS, LAST WALKING LIBERTY, and $1.
History
The Walking Liberty design that Weinman created was widely believed to have been inspired by a French gold coin design of the late 19th century. Known as the Sower, the French design captured a female figure in left-profile relief walking through a field spreading seeds with her right hand.
