Queen Elizabeth II is on the obverse of 2022 Tudor Beast Lion 10 oz Silver Coins. This design was created in 2015 by Jody Clark and shows the Queen in right-profile relief. The fifth-generation effigy of the Queen on British coins, it shows Her Majesty aged 89 years old with the George IV State Diadem Crown. Inscriptions on this side read 10 POUNDS, ELIZBETH II, and D.G. REG F.D.
The Lion of England dominates the reverse field of the 2022 British Tudor Beasts Lion Silver Coins. In this design, the crowned Lion of England is shown supporting the impaled Royal Arms used by King Henry VIII and his third wife, Jane Seymour. The design shows a split shield with the Royal Arms of Henry VIII alongside the personal coat of arms of his wife, Jane Seymour. Her coat of arms includes the Seymour Panther, the debut heraldic beast in the Tudor Beasts Series.
The Tudor Dynasty was formed in 1485 by Henry Tudor in the aftermath of the Wars of the Roses. His victory over King Richard III at the Battle of Bosworth Field resulted in the Yorkist kings death and the end of the war. Henry married Elizabeth of York to combine the Houses of Lancaster and York, forming the House of Tudor that would rule the throne from 1485 to 1603.
