The British Britannia is one of the most visible silver coins in the world. Obverse
On the obverse of 2022 British Britannia 1 oz Silver Coins is a depiction of Queen Elizabeth II. Her Majesty is shown in right-profile relief in a design created by Jody Clark in 2015. The portrait was created in 2015 to serve as the fifth-generation effigy of Her Majesty and shows the Queen aged 89 with the George IV State Diadem Crown on her head. Inscriptions include 2 POUNDS, ELIZABETH II, and D.G. REG F.D.
Reverse
The reverse field of the 2022 British Britannia Silver Coins comes with a vision of Britannia. This modern depiction of the female allegory was created in 1987 by Philip Nathan and debuted on the gold coins. The design shows Britannia wearing a Corinthian helmet with a trident in her right hand and a shield in her left hand. The shield features the Union Jack flag. Inscriptions on this face of the coin read BRITANNIA, 2022, 1 OZ, 999 and FINE SILVER.
History
As of 2021, the Britannia Silver Coin features four new security elements. The security elements include a wave motion-effect in the background, a latent security image that adjusts between a padlock and trident, tincture lines on the Union Jack flag, and micro-text engraving around the central design field.
