Designed in 2015 for the Royal Mint by Jody Clark, this portrait casts the Queen in right-profile relief wearing the George IV State Diadem. Inscriptions include ELIZABETH II, AUSTRALIA, and 30 DOLLARS.
Reverse
The reverse side of the 2022 Kookaburra 1 Kilo Silver Coin depicts a kookaburra. The bird is shown here on the ledge of a birdbath. The field includes inscriptions of 2022, 1 KILO 9999 SILVER, KOOKABURRA, the P mint mark of Perth Mint, and the NM initials of Muhl.
History
Australian Kookaburra Silver Coins have been issued since 1990, with the 1 Kilo weight added in 1992 along with 10 oz and 2 oz silver coins. As of 2010, the series comes with 1 oz, 10 oz, and 1 Kilo silver coins only.
