In this depiction, her full-length figure is captured in front-facing relief as she walks toward you with a torch in her right hand and an olive branch in her left. The U.S. Capitol Building is at her feet with sun rays in the background and a ring of 50 stars around the design element. The inscriptions on this side of the coin read LIBERTY and 2022.

Reverse

On the reverse side of 2022 American Eagle 1/4 oz Gold Coins is a depiction of the American bald eagle. This image shows the bald eagle in left-profile relief and features its hooked beak, sharp gaze, and detailed plumage. Inscriptions on this face of the coin include UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, IN GOD WE TRUST, E PLURIBUS UNUM, and 1/4 OZ. FINE GOLD 10 DOLLARS.

History

The new design on the reverse of American Eagle Gold Coins split its debut year with the original design from Miley Busiek. As part of the 35^th anniversary of the series, the US Mint issued the coins one final time with the original design before debuting this new image from Jennie Norris.
