The blanks are specially struck to create impressive visuals prized by collectors. In some cases, Proof American Eagles earn certifications from the NGC and PCGS highlighting the exceptional quality of the visual elements. Right now, you can buy 2021-W Proof American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins online from Provident Metals in near-perfect condition.
Highlights:
Provident Metals is happy to offer 2021-W Proof American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins with a near-perfect certification. The PCGS issues a PR69 certification to coins that exhibit full, original mint luster and no more than two minor detracting flaws. Examples of acceptable flaws include only minuscule contact marks or hairlines that are located outside of the primary focal points of the coin.
These coins also come with deep-cameo and First Strike designations. A DCAM proof coin has strong, frosted design elements that contrast brilliantly with the deeply-mirrored, clear background field. A First Strike label indicates a coin received inside the opening 30 days of release from the US Mint.
Obverse
The obverse of 2021-W Proof American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins comes with the historic Walking Liberty design. Created by Adolph A. Weinman, this design first appeared on American coinage in 1916. It depicts Liberty in left-profile relief as she marches toward the light of a new day. The sun crests a mountain range in the distance with its vibrance exuded by the rays of sunshine emitted from its center. The figure of Liberty is draped by the American flag. Inscriptions on this side read Liberty, In God We Trust, and 2021.
Reverse
On the reverse of 2021-W Proof American Silver Coins is a depiction of the heraldic eagle of the United States. Modified for this series in 1986 by John Mercanti, the design shows the bald eagle with the US national shield on its chest. The bird clutches the arrows of war and the olive branch of peace in its talons, with a cluster of 13 stars arranged in a tight triangle above its head. The inscriptions on this face of the coin include United States of America, E Pluribus Unum, 1 oz. Fine Silver One Dollar, and a W mint mark from the West Point Mint.
History
2021 marks the final date in the series to include the heraldic eagle design. As part of the 35th anniversary of the series, the US Mint is replacing the venerable design with a new, realistic depiction of the bald eagle.
