Obverse

The obverse side of the 2021-W Proof American Silver Eagle coin features a Walking Liberty. This design was created by Adolph A. Weinman and features a beautiful full-length figure of Liberty walking, her right hand extended toward the sun on the horizon. She is draped in the American flag and is holding branches of laurel and oak in her left hand. The inscriptions on this face read Liberty, In God We Trust, and 2021.

Reverse

The reverse side of the 2021-W Proof American Silver Eagle coin features the heraldic eagle design created by John Mercanti, which he completed in 1986 for the release of this series. The eagle supports the national shield upon its chest, with the olive branch of peace in its right talon, and a bundle of arrows in its left talon. The design also includes a triangular cluster of 13 stars over the eagles head representing the 13 original American colonies. The inscriptions on this face read United States of America, E. Pluribus Unum, and 1 oz. Fine Silver – One Dollar.

History

The Proof American Eagle 1 oz Silver coins were first released on November 24, 1986. They are considered to be amongst the rarest and most beautiful coins produced by the US Mint. The coins are extremely popular with collectors due to their exceptional coin detail and aesthetic appeal.
