The most notable changes to the designs on this side of the coin include a new inscription of the change in temperature in Celsius and Fahrenheit. This inscription shows that the average temperature on Earth in the 21^st century has risen compared to 20^th-century averages. The compass star at the bottom is also new this year. History

The Tokelau Terra Series comes with new background field lines. Last years release included traditional latitude and longitude lines creating intersecting square- or rhombus-shaped spaces. This years coin has diagonal lines that intersect to form triangular shapes instead.
